About us

The Wild Game Co. is a young business supplying wild venison and game, fresh from the Highlands.

Andy Waugh recently launched The Wild Game Co. in London. All of his meat is sourced from the Scottish Highlands, where his family has been running a game-butchering business for more than 30 years.

The motivation to get started in London came after he realised there was a real lack of good quality game available down south. Andy decided that The Wild Game Co. could provide a fun (and delicious) way to encourage people to branch out and eat British. And so far it has.

Our meat is not just wild or from 'somewhere' up North, we can tell you exactly who shot it and where. It's a business that's strongly committed to heritage and quality.

We currently run a daily lunchtime stall at Whitecross Street Market (Mon-Fri) as well as our beloved Saturday stall at Broadway Market. And, of course, we have a few other markets in the pipeline.

Along with venison and small game, we also supply smoked salmon that is sourced near Andy's own home in Ardgay, Sutherland (the heart of the Highlands - a good 45 minute drive north of Inverness).

Our Company

The Wild Game Co. began life on the Glorious 12th, August 2010. We strive to provide London and the rest of the UK with consistently top quality meat, fresh from the Highlands. We aim to rid the game industry of its stigmas and give the Brit's something they can really be proud of!

Our Team

Andy launched the business and manages everything on a day-to-day basis. But he couldn’t do it without help… that comes in the form of two Highland Ruaridhs and two British blondes, who are truly wonderful and have been instrumental in getting the business flying.

Ruaridh (Ro) Waugh heads up the logistical side of the business from Scotland. His years of experience as technical manager in the family business are invaluable to the continuing success and growth of The Wild Game Co. Ro's commitment to deliveries is so strong that he once drove 16hrs from Ardgay to London on a Friday evening to get the delivery to Broadway Market for 8am.

Ruaridh (Ru) Emslie has devoted his time, energy and dashing good looks to The Wild Game Co's market days. He gave up his career in real estate to follow his dream as a food connoisseur. When he's not baking artisan loafs he is serving up steak sandwiches at Whitecross or organising the market at Broadway. You'll often see him sporting his kilt alongside Andy.

Sarah Baldwin is our star press contact. This blond bombshell has an affinity to all things classy, not least food and drink. When she's not too busy writing for Grand Designs Magazine or winning journalism awards, she is answering any press enquiries with eloquence and style.

Holly Wallis - press contact No. 2. Holly is a broadcast media legend. In the little time she has been in the industry Holly has risen to fame. She has her own radio show in west London and is also one of the team on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme. She manages the business' online presence and sometimes gives us a plug on the radio. You will occasionally see her helping at the market - just look for the queue of men battling to be served by her.
